The Spring Table

It’s evident by the welcome combination of brisk mornings and warm afternoons that spring has arrived. We have put together a list of some of our favorite tabletop accessories that will help you refresh your spring table setting. Whether you’re the go-to host or the frequent visitor, these intentional table items will serve as decor and utility pieces in your home throughout the spring season and all year long.

As you gather around the table, consider elevating your dinnerware to a fresh, neutral finish. Your dishes, such as bowls and plates, create the setting and overall atmosphere for your meals and moments around the table. Our dinnerware line in a matte or shiny finish, is crafted from mineral-rich clay and made by seasoned artisans of a fair-trade women's empowerment group in Nepal. Use these deep, wide pasta bowls for a fresh chilled salad and these Teacups for a scoop (or two) of your favorite ice cream.

Continue to create the feeling of hygge through purposeful table decor accessories. For example, even salt and pepper grinders can be intentional. These salt and pepper grinders, available in cozy hues of blue, were designed by Norm Architects, a well renowned design firm based in Copenhagen. They are available in a range of soft, Scandinavian colors with a rubber surface that's easy to grip and clean. The grinder is easy to operate and perfect for grinding more than just salt & pepper, including spices and grains, nuts, seeds or dried fruits. Seasoning your spring meals will no longer feel like a chore, but instead an enjoyable task to enhance taste.

A key component of hygge is coziness and contentment, especially around the dining table. The spring season provides an incredible reason to spruce up your seating with a comfortable sheepskin seat pad. We offer both square and round sheepskin seat pads to fit chairs in a variety of sizes. Square sheepskin seat pads, made from merino wool, are ideal for barstools, benches, chairs, or any seating area that could use some fluffy padding and warmth. Ideal for enjoying an early morning breeze or late night fireside chats.

When the sun starts to set, your outdoor enjoyment doesn’t have to end. The Emma lantern is a perfect day to night transitional piece. The Emma lantern is artfully crafted from warm hues of powder-coated steel, as well as natural leather, hand-blown glass, and solid brass detailing. Designed in Sweden by Emma Olbers for Eldvarm, the Emma lantern is available in a variety of luxurious color finishes to compliment your table setting.

We hope you enjoy setting your Spring table and gathering with those you love.  - Hygge Life
