The Hygge Life Shop
Hygge Life started in 2013 as a blog about a young couple traveling around Europe in an old blue camper called the Hygge Bus. Since then, our passion for the hygge lifestyle brought us just west of Vail, Colorado where we now have our first brick and mortar shop. We could not have imagined where we would be today while we were driving around Europe selling poffertjes (mini Dutch pancakes) from the Hygge Bus, but we are so incredibly happy about where this hygge adventure has taken us.
Our story began in Vail, Colorado over six years ago. We fell in love and moved to Amsterdam, Koen's home, for almost four years and eventually found our way back to Colorado in 2016. After an inspiring year in Denver and celebrating our wedding in July, we decided that we really just wanted to be in the mountains where it all began. This summer, we moved up to Vail and stumbled upon a charming, neighborly retail space between Vail and Beaver Creek. After a few friendly meetings with the landlord, a longtime Vail local, suddenly we became shopkeepers!
It has been a dream to create a space where the door is always open and we can share all of our hygge finds we love from around the world. We hope that everyone who walks through our door feels welcome, comfortable and inspired to live a hygge lifestyle. We have our sights on adding a cafe to the space but for now, here are some shop views for those of you who haven't had the chance to visit quite yet.
