Meet the Maker - New Collar Goods

We first met Jon and Deana, the woodworkers and couple behind New Collar Goods, at a makers market in Denver. We both felt an immediate instinct to be friends and luckily, that's exactly what happened. Not only are they our good friends, they are extremely talented and make gorgeous furniture! We are constantly in awe of what they create in their Denver woodworking studio.

Their name - New Collar Goods - pays homage to the blue-collar tradesman that spent a lifetime perfecting their craft. Growing up in a small town - the home to many blue collar workers - they wanted to honor these tradespeople with their work. New-Collar symbolizes this same trade with access to new design techniques and tools.

Growing up near the Adirondack mountains, they are naturally drawn to a laid back, unpretentious lifestyle. They create designs that bring people together - pieces that beckon you to dwell in the moment and connect with those around you. Their designs are minimal but functional allowing the natural beauty of the materials they use to shine.

Jon & Deana make products ranging from custom shelving units to oval dining room tables and shaker inspired barstools. We feel lucky to have some of their work in the shop - they designed the beautiful custom shelving on the back wall of our shop as well as the counters in our new café. The shaker inspired barstools and coffee tables were also designed and made by them, not to mention the Hygge Swing that everyone loves! Plus, we now have a new long, oval dining table - the Hygge Table - on display in the shop and available in various finishes.

Jon and Deana are extremely gifted at listening intently, being sensitive to their clients' visions & dreams and turning these ideas into reality. They create custom pieces but also have a line of their own including metal, powder coated planters in fun colors, a dining table, desk, coffee table, swing chair and stools. Come and see some of their pieces in the shop & café!
